Our Take on Shepard's Pie
1lb of thawed Crummies, 1-12oz bag of frozen peas and carrots (use fresh if you want but make sure they are cooked prior to using), 3lbs of potatoes of choice (I prefer red skinned), 1 jar or 12oz of gravy of choice (homemade if you are feeling fancy, jarred works just as well), Garlic and Onion Powder, Salt and Pepper.
Step 1-Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.
Step 2-Chop potatoes into about ½" pieces. Boil until mashable. Drain and Mash to desired consistency. You can add butter or milk in this stage if desired. Set aside.
Step 3- Heat sautee pan with oil and add 1 diced red onion. Continue to sautee until the onion appear translucent.
Step 4-Add in your Crummies and continue to sautee.
Step 5-Once the Crummies and Onion are well heated through, add in your frozen or cooked vegetables.
Step 6-Place the mixture in a 9x13 pan. Top the mixture with the mash potatoes and spread until the pan is covered.
Step 7-Place in the oven for 10-15 minutes. If you would like a browned topping, broil for 1-2 minutes in addition.
Let cool for 10 minutes, serve and enjoy!
